Despite the fact that she has not spoken with her daughter in three years, Ariel Winter's mom thinks she has the right to air her opinion about the actress' body — more specifically, her breast reduction surgery.
Crystal Workman, who was cut off from her daughter physically, emotionally and financially amid allegations of abuse, decided it would be perfectly appropriate to discuss her contempt for Winter's very reasonable decision to have the surgery with a major media outlet.
"I don't think anyone at that age should be cutting into their breasts," she told Inside Edition. "I am surprised she did it so young and that the doctor did it for her so young."
Of particular concern to Workman was the fact that Winter did not care in the least that her surgery scars were peeking out from her gown at the 2016 SAG Awards earlier this year.
"I'm sorry, I just think this is inappropriate," Workman said. "She should never be embarrassed of her scars, but she shouldn't be flaunting them."
Workman also complained about Winter's abuse claims, even implying that her daughter was the abusive one.
"I have been abused physically and I believe all of this is emotional abuse. Ariel should ask herself, ‘Has Ariel ever raised her hand to her mother? Has Ariel ever done anything that she's ashamed of to her mother?'" Workman said.
"Instead of thanking me, she continues to berate me, disrespect, dishonor me and that hurts as a mother."
Winter's rep refused to comment on Workman's allegations.
