Courtney Stodden copies Kim Kardashian's naked photo to support nudity

Mckenna is the girl you want on your trivia team for her vast knowledge of early 2000s pop culture. She's an avid YouTube subscriber and loves all things Content Marketing. On occasion she's been known to spontaneously move to a differen...

Kim Kardashian’s nude photo gets support from a fellow reality star who understands criticism

You’ve seen the picture by now. It’s the nude photo that won’t go away. At least not this week. While a lot of celebrities have spoken out against Kim Kardashian for posting a picture of herself completely bare, there are many who have come to her defense. The latest celeb to jump on Kardashian’s side is Courtney Stodden.

Stodden is a reality star in her own way and maybe the only person who faces even more online criticism than any Kardashian. I know it’s hard to believe, but it might actually be true. She decided to show her support for Kardashian by posting her own nude photo (complete with black bars) on Instagram earlier this week. Her caption even included a shout-out. She wrote, "Oh & I can't find anything to wear either, Kim! #girlproblems.”

I count myself lucky that this is not the kind of girl problem I have faced yet. My grandma would have some strong words for me.

Stodden’s post isn’t surprising — she is known to lead with her sexuality both online and in her personal life. But it does seem a little less sincere than Kardashian’s. Both women (or any woman) should feel free to post any picture of themselves that they want to, but Stodden’s post seems more like an attempt to jump on Kardashian’s publicity wave than to teach her fans about appreciating their own body.

Maybe it was Stodden’s post that Pink was talking about when she wrote that women should be empowered by their talents and not the attention their body brings. The comments seem a little more appropriate when directed at Stodden than Kardashian.

Kardashian hasn’t commented on any of her supporters or critics since her blog post earlier this week. But if I had to guess, I’d say she’s as ready to move on as we all are.
