Amy Schumer is clearly a fan of The Bachelor, and on Monday night, she took to Twitter to blast host Chris Harrison for the comments he made about contestant Jubilee Sharpe.
During the The Bachelor: Women Tell All special, Harrison and Sharpe had a discussion about the tragedies in her past, and how Ben Higgins reacted to the knowledge of her family members' deaths.
"Ben was everything that I thought he was. You know, he didn't see me and my complicated past as a huge obstacle," Sharpe said to Harrison. To which Harrison responded, "I know you can't control how complicated you are. You might be complicated, and I know you stir the pot sometimes, but I hope you realize you're a pretty special woman, and I really appreciate you coming here and opening up the way you did."
And it's those comments that Schumer has taken issue with, as she tweeted about how being complicated is not a bad thing, but that Harrison "treated it like something she should fight."
Team jubilee for life #Bachelor— Amy Schumer (@amyschumer) March 8, 2016
There is nothing wrong with "complicated" women Chris Harrison. You treated it like something she should fight. A women shouldn't try to— Amy Schumer (@amyschumer) March 8, 2016
Be less complicated so as to hopefully attract a man. And she shouldn't find value in herself just because a dude liked her. Come on bro— Amy Schumer (@amyschumer) March 8, 2016
Schumer also praised Sharpe for her strength and intelligence, commenting on how there is so much more to her than simply being complicated.
She is smart and strong and a sergeant in the military. She lost her entire family and you say she must fight off being complicated.— Amy Schumer (@amyschumer) March 8, 2016
Harrison responded to Schumer's comments in a relatively lighthearted way.
@amyschumer stop yelling at me— Chris Harrison (@chrisbharrison) March 8, 2016
But he also insisted that he thought Sharpe was a brilliant, strong woman, too.
@amyschumer I'm 82% sure I said and supported all these points as well— Chris Harrison (@chrisbharrison) March 8, 2016
So, are there any hard feelings between Schumer and Harrison?
@chrisbharrison love you boo boo but had to make the correction for any brainwashed gals thinking hey need to be uncomplicated to be lovable— Amy Schumer (@amyschumer) March 8, 2016
However, Schumer's comments and her defense of the word complicated are admirable, and she is completely right — women do not need to be uncomplicated to be lovable.
