New information has surfaced about Bobbi Kristina Brown's death.
According to People magazine, an autopsy report has been released for Brown, even as her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is still embroiled in a nasty legal battle with her family over what actually caused her death.
The toxicology report released this week confirms that Brown died from a combination of drowning and drug intoxication — she had marijuana, alcohol, "a cocaine-related substance," sedatives, anti-anxiety medication and morphine in her system.
Ever since Brown's death, Gordon has been at odds with her family, which has filed a $10 million wrongful death lawsuit against him. They allege that Gordon caused Brown's death by injecting her with a toxic mixture and then leaving her in the bathtub alone.
Because of the allegations, Gordon has stayed largely out of the limelight, but his case has still had its ups and downs. In November of last year, his attorney withdrew from the case and released a statement saying, "Attorney Bryant Green is no longer working with Nick Gordon on his civil case involving Bobbi Kristina Brown's family. There was a conflict of interest involving Nick and Bryant Green. At this time, the case is at a still point until Nick Gordon finds new counsel as he is currently without counsel working on everything pro se." Following that announcement, there were rumors saying Gordon's attorney withdrew because Gordon was being uncooperative in the investigation.
Despite Brown's family's civil lawsuit, no criminal charges have been filed against Gordon relating to her death.
Gordon has continued to fight the family's claims, and also still publicly mourns Brown's passing. Earlier this month, his representatives released a statement saying, "On top of losing the love of his life and his dearest friend, he has been dehumanized by the fictitious allegations made in the civil suit and repeatedly slandered in the press. Despite all of this, Nick remains strong and is sincerely thankful for the endless love and support he has received from friends and strangers alike."
Gordon has also paid tribute to Brown on social media over the year since her death, posting photos as well as a birthday wish on what would have been her 23rd birthday.
