If you had the chance to catch the premiere of The Voice, then you probably caught a glimpse of Alisan Porter's audition singing "Blue Bayou" by Linda Ronstadt, where all four judges turned their chairs in support of her unique voice, and she then joined Team Christina.
But I bet this isn't the first time you've seen her.
You probably recognize Porter as Curly Sue in the popular '90s movie of the same name. And since then, she's kept herself pretty busy. For instance, did you know she's been singing in a band? Or that she is happily married to the love of her life?
Get to know Porter a little better.
She was the youngest singer to appear on the show in 1983 and was later recognized for becoming the five-time junior vocalist champion. Judging by her performance, she is obviously no stranger to the world of performing.
In 1989, you may remember her puking all over Steve Martin onscreen.
At the age of 18, she moved to New York to join the cast of the popular Broadway show after nailing her audition.
Porter's voice is to die for. Here she is doing a Janis Joplin cover.
Porter became sober in October 2007 after deciding to admit herself into rehab. She attended several meetings and picked up a sponsor to help her recover.
After becoming sober, she fell in love, got married and started a family. Now she turns to music to keep her sane while raising two beautiful children.
With everything that Porter has faced in the past, her future has never looked so bright. Follow her success by watching Season 10 of The Voice on NBC.
