The cast has done a lot of press for it, which means there are all kinds of teasers circulating out there. Rather than you having to read every spoiler, here are a few all in one place. It seems like those who are rooting for Alec (Matthew Daddario) and Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) to have a thing, your wishes will soon be granted. During the 2016 Television Critics Association winter press tour, it was revealed that not only is an episode titled "Malec," but Shum revealed the ship "will become almost a character itself."

2. Book fans won't be disappointed

During the TCA winter press tour, executive producer Ed Decter spoke about how closely the series will follow the books. He said, "We are absolutely starting from the beginning of the books and we stay unbelievably true to the spirit of the books. We wanted to have surprises both for the real hardcore fans and then we also want to introduce the viewers who have never been introduced to the world carefully and slowly so that they can get caught up in it like we are.”

3. It promises to be "darker" and "sexier"

If you're hoping Shadowhunters is as dark and sexy as it looks in the promo, then you'll be happy to know that the show will be "darker" and "sexier" than other dramas on Freeform.

4. Will incest be featured?

During the winter TCA panel, talk about a potential "incest" storyline was also discussed. Per Decter, he said, "It’s got some racy content, and [ABC Family/Freeform] said, 'Bring it.'" For those wondering how incest may be featured, read more here.

5. Simon might not always have eyes for Clary

Even though Simon has feelings for his BFF Clary, during 2015's New York Comic Con it was revealed that there might be a brief moment between Simon and Isabelle. I guess Malec shippers won't be the only one walking away happy.

6. For those wondering about Idris

Even though the series promises to stay true to the books, there will be elements popping up from later books at some point in time. For example, the city of Idris won't be featured until Season 2, if the Freeform drama scores a renewal. Like Decter said during the TCAs, "What we try to do is if we need to solve a problem or tell a plot point, what we do is first look to the whole canon of Cassandra's literature and find a solution within her books that helps us out with a plot point or a story point that we want to do."

He added, "Even characters that might not have been in the book, we sort of combine some things from the books to make that character so that we're really using the Mortal Instruments all the time and also, her offshoot things like The Bane Chronicles."

Shadowhunters premieres Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 9/8c on Freeform, the new name for ABC Family.
