Janet Jackson says she does not have the horrible disease everyone thinks she has — but she is still holding her health secret close.
Jackson, who postponed the European leg of her Unbreakable tour on Christmas Eve because she said she needed major surgery, tweeted a video to fans today denying the rumors that she actually has cancer.

"Remember… believe it when you hear it from my lips," she said.
"The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I am recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love."
Radar Online reported earlier this week that a source claims Jackson has a growth on her vocal cords.
"Doctors found a growth on Janet's vocal cords that could be serious," the insider told Radar. "It's a medical condition that has to be taken care of immediately."
The site then quoted a doctor who said that if it is throat cancer, Jackson's career is effectively over.
"God forbid that this should be cancer of the larynx," Dr. Stuart Fischer told Radar. "That would abruptly end her ability to ever perform again… Singing would be impossible… Surgery would be very complex, and followed by months of radiation treatment."
While Jackson emphatically denied the cancer part of the story, she did not reveal what is wrong with her health. Vocal cord nodules are unfortunately common among professional singers — John Mayer was taken out of commission for a while dealing with his — but it could still be something more serious. However, it seems Jackson would rather keep the details private, as is her right.
Jackson's update comes after her Christmas Eve cancellation announcement, in which she said, "Hey you guys… Happy Holidays to each and every one of you. I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable [t]our until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced."
Jackson continued, "Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time. There will be no further comment. I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon' b alright." [sic]
