A just-released international trailer for Disney's Star Wars: The Force Awakens is full of new footage, and an absolute treat for hardcore fans anxiously awaiting new scenes to pore over and dissect.

Although lots of the iconic characters make it into the trailer, it is newcomer Rey (Daisy Ridley) who receives the most screen time in the teaser, and naturally the one who intrigues us the most.

More: Star Wars fans are making one baby name very popular

We see her in this new trailer, in the desert telling droid BB-8 that she's been waiting a long time for her family. What family? Ugh, the suspense! Later, we learn that she and Finn (John Boyega) don't really know each other very well (we see them on the Millennium Falcon, exchanging names). Towards the end of the teaser, we see Rey involved in an aerial battle sequence between the TIE Fighters and the Resistance forces.

There is much to speculate about, but one thing we are sure of: Rey is absolutely badass and we can't wait to see her take on the Force.

"Hope is not lost today; it is found," we hear Maz Kanata say at the end of the trailer. With only a few weeks left for the movie's release (it premieres Dec. 18), isn't that the truth?

The cast includes Ridley, Boyega, Adam Driver, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow.
