As we reported last night, Odom was found unconscious Tuesday afternoon by a woman in a Nevada brothel, where he was allegedly partying by himself the entire weekend. The paramedics were called, but despite the quick actions of everyone involved, Odom's prognosis doesn't look good right now.
Las Vegas police report that while they tried to airlift Odom to the hospital, his large, 6-foot-10-inch frame prevented him from fitting inside the helicopter. They had to rush him via ambulance to the hospital instead but were able to stabilize him on the way there.
Upon hearing the news, members of the Kardashian family, including Khloé, Kim and Kris Jenner, rushed out of LA to head to Las Vegas to be with Odom. According to TMZ's updates, Odom was completely alone in his hospital room because his security is not considered family, and none of his family was present. The Kardashian clan arrived sometime before 11 p.m. PDT, however, and Khloé has been by his side ever since.
As the new day begins today, Odom is in critical condition. His organs are reportedly failing fast, including his heart, kidneys and lungs. He is in a coma and breathing with the help of a tube as he is unable to breathe on his own. No word yet on if there is permanent damage to any area of his body, if his brain has been affected or if there is any hope of him recovering.
Our thoughts continue to be with Lamar Odom, his family and friends today, as well as with Khloé Kardashian and her family as they sit vigil in the hospital.
E! News is officially reporting that Odom suffered from an overdose.
The outlet is stating that he had an ischemic stroke, which is a blood clot that prevents blood flow to the brain. It is a common side effect of a cocaine overdose, though the exact drugs in Odom's system are still officially unknown. An insider, however, reports that Odom was doing drugs all weekend during his stay at the Love Ranch brothel.
His former teammates and friends have rallied to show their support on Twitter.
