The challenge this week was to design a look that was both high-end and affordable for JustFab, which led to a skirmish among the judges, who couldn't even agree on who deserved the highest and the lowest scores. (Judge Nina García admitted on Twitter that they were all over the place.) Because the judging was so chaotic, some viewers suggested that there shouldn't be a winner. There was, though, but the decision to pick Edmond's look as the winner didn't go over well with fans, who thought it was unoriginal and boring.
I hope Edmond doesn't win this challenge. his design had no creativity and would never work for someone without a model body #projectrunway— Jessica Peugh (@Atrobro) October 2, 2015
Edmond's is sooooooooo booooooooooooooooooring. At least Ashley's was vaguely on the interesting spectrum. #ProjectRunway— Melrose Plant (@melrose_planet) October 2, 2015
This was Edmond's third win of the competition, and for Ashley, it was another time she was in the top but didn't win. Twitter was frustrated, not just because she didn't win (again), but because her design was more accessible to women who weren't models.
Ashley's jacket will sell more bc it can fit more body types. Edmond's audience is limited to size zeros. #ProjectRunway— Kim Zito (@KimZito1) October 2, 2015
Ashley's concept of the girl next door > than Edmund's concept of a bombshell. #ProjectRunway— Dan DeSalvo (@DanDeSalvo) October 2, 2015
Literally just give Ashley a WIN YOU HAVE DENIED HER FOR LIKE 3 WEEKS. #ProjectRunway— Sarah Holland (@NotTheOnlySarah) October 2, 2015
Ashley was lowkey robbed of a win, again. I, too, was robbed, bc I really really wanted that leather jacket #ProjectRunway— Jacqueline Brooks (@jacbrooks16) October 2, 2015
Ashley and Edmond are favorites whom viewers want to see at Fashion Week, and some on Twitter suggested that both could have won — Edmond's dress and Ashley's jacket. At this point in the season, the competition is about to get fiercer — after this week, there is no more immunity, although the Tim Gunn save still has yet to be used.
