The Islington-born songstress made the decision to leave Simon Cowell's record label Syco in 2014, which she recently talked about in an interview with The Independent. Lewis revealed that she made this decision because she was "at that stage [where] all they were doing was holding me back from fulfilling my potential." But now that she's free from Cowell she's made a rather unorthodox promotional move — although it's one that's good news for Grindr users.
Lewis is selling her brand new album I Am on the dating app and for a limited time fans can download the album for the tiny sum of $4 (that's £3) — a sweet deal, considering her non-Grindr-using fans have to pay the equivalent of £6 on iTunes.
Grindr's Twitter page shared the promotion, urging fans to get their hands on this very special deal.
But there has been a rather mixed bag of reactions when it comes to Lewis' promo.
So Leona is offering her album to Grindr fans for £2.99? ...What? pic.twitter.com/WZ94LZJ86m— Richard Dawson (@dawsonsweek) September 14, 2015
Oh how times have changed.
Hold on. Leona Lewis released an album to Grindr? 2015 is something else. https://t.co/KxK4smw9BX— Michael Arceneaux (@youngsinick) September 15, 2015
But these fans (we assume they're fans) couldn't be happier.

My favourite thing about the world is that Grindr is giving mad promo for Leona Lewis' new album.— Bradley Crane (@brad_fierce) September 14, 2015
