The family got a much-needed reprieve from scandal and bad press last week when cousin Amy Duggar tied the knot with her boyfriend, Dillon King. Now, the Duggars have another reason to celebrate: It's Michelle's birthday!
The family pulled together to make the day extra special for the matriarch of TLC's now-canceled reality series 19 Kids and Counting. Throughout the day, members of the famous family shared videos they had made wishing their mom a happy birthday and telling her what they love and appreciate about her. Aww!
Jessa Duggar, who is expecting her first child with husband Ben Seewald, was first up, sharing a sweet message about how she hopes to carry on her mom's legacy by becoming a mom herself.
"As Ben and I are looking forward to being parents in the next couple months, I just think that are so many things that I learned from you that I'm really looking froward to implementing in my own home," Jessa said, adding that she especially admires her mom's patience and "love for Jesus."
Jessa continued, "Any time things are going crazy, you're always pointing us to Jesus, and I know that's your rock in tough times."
Josiah Duggar was next to share a video, thanking his mom for her guidance and support.
"[Thanks for] believing in me and giving me a safe space to share with you," he said. "I really do look up to you."
And the family's eldest daughter, Jana Duggar, also joined in on the sweet surprise, saying she "hopes to be like" her mom someday.
A couple of familiar faces were missing, including Jill Duggar, who is back in the United States for a break from mission work in El Salvador, and Josh Duggar, the family's eldest son and center of the multiple scandals that have rocked the family in recent months. Josh is reportedly being treated in a faith-based rehab center after admitting to adultery and a pornography addiction.
