Nicki Minaj took home the well-deserved Best Hip-Hop Video award, and while on stage she called out Miley Cyrus, referring to her as, "this bitch who had a lot to say about me last week in the press." She then followed up her statement by saying, "Miley, what's good?"
The "Anaconda" hit maker's comments didn't just come out of anywhere, though. Cyrus recently did an interview with The New York Times, in which she was asked to weigh in on Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj's Twitter misunderstanding.
Cyrus said, "What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It's not very polite. I think there's a way you speak to people with openness and love...."
Well, it looks like Minaj does not like her name being dragged through the press, and she's let Cyrus know. And the altercation on stage has since created a social media frenzy, with countless fans taking to Twitter to share their feelings about it.
Does anyone know if Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus actually just beefed or if that was fake? Do they even know? What is even happening? #VMAs— Alex Goldschmidt (@alexandergold) August 31, 2015
I want Nicki Minaj to actually physically crush Miley Cyrus into bone dust and gut smears while I eat popcorn and cheer— Sandstorm (@tokyoalice) August 31, 2015
However, there are also fans who are convinced there's no beef between these two stars, and that it was all for TV ratings.
