The famously troubled actress, who's had both health and legal problems throughout the last few years, hadn't made a public appearance in months.

Then, Bynes appeared at Michael Costello and Style PR's capsule collection launch on Thursday, where she was all smiles, waving at both cameras and fans.

Bynes wore a cute long-sleeved, white crocheted dress, black heels and sunglasses, and she looks healthy. It's, well, a big change from the last time she was spotted out and about, amid stints in rehab, multiple arrests and reports of serious mental illness.

Bynes, who is known for her multiple roles on Nickelodeon shows, stopped acting in 2012 to go to school to be a fashion designer. She later dropped out and her downward spiral began. She's faced rumors of drug use, homelessness and financial trouble, and a judge's ruling gave her parents conservatorship of Bynes' finances during the peak of the star's troubles.

Bynes' Twitter account, where she gained attention for picking petty fights with other celebrities by calling them "ugly," has been silent since March. She's deleted many of her past tweets — her account shows that only 42 tweets have not been deleted.

Us Weekly reports Bynes fit right in at the Costello event, where she mingled with other stars and even fawned over TV host Diana Madison's baby bump, saying, "Oh, my sister is about to give birth in a week! She's having a baby girl."

In June, Bynes' attorney, David Esquibias, told Us Weekly his client has been "doing great" on the road to recovery.

"She appreciates all of the love and support she has received from family, friends and fans," Esquibias added.
