And it isn't because the two have broken up like those pesky rumors suggest.
"It's the anniversary of her mom's death," Soules explained in an interview with Us Weekly after his performance yesterday.
Bischoff even shared a touching Instagram photo of her mother, confirming the news.
"I miss her," Soules continued. "But I think it's healthy for her to be away — she's with family."
According to Us Weekly, Bischoff's mother died 10 years ago from a blood clot during a procedure.
"She's my number one fan," he added, assuring fans that they're very much still in love. "So I know she's there for me and when all of this is over it'll be nice to just be together."
Soules and his dancing pro partner, Witney Carson, scored 64 out of 80 points for their performance last night.
As with any Bachelor couple, Bischoff and Soules have faced their share of breakup rumors, made even worse by his appearance on Dancing with the Stars. First, there was supposedly trouble in paradise because Soules was making moves on his partner, Carson. Then, there were rumors that after Soules yelled at Carson during a stressful rehearsal, Bischoff was majorly turned off.
But with only a few weeks left in Season 20, the Bachelor couple has managed to make it together.
And though Bischoff couldn't be at the show, she was still supporting her man.
