The riots, which began after the funeral of a young black man who was so badly injured by police, he later died in the hospital, have resulted in a city-wide curfew, school closures and Baltimore's mayor issuing a state of emergency proclamation.
Witnesses say the scene is similar to Ferguson, Missouri, last year, where protestors rioted following the shooting death of Michael Brown, a black teen killed by a police officer.
