Richards was dragged off to jail last week — as in, cops literally had to drag her out of the bathroom at the Beverly Hills Hotel Polo Club — after being accused of causing a drunken disturbance, then kicking an officer at the police station.
Now the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star faces a big decision: Head back to rehab or try to stay sober again on her own?
A friend says that, as of right now, the former does not look promising.
"As of now, she is saying no to rehab," the source told People. "People are trying to get her to go. A lot of people are worried about her."
But she might not have a choice. RHOBH producers are mulling trying to force her to go as a term of her contract, and then she has to contend with the judge.
"She could be forced to go under court order," the friend said.
At least Richards seems to realize she has a very serious problem. In an interview with Dr. Phil to air on April 28, Richards admitted that her drinking was out of control.
"I was angry and frightened and I was scared. I knew what I had done," Richards told Dr. Phil, according to an early transcript obtained by People. "The whole night is my fault. None of this would have happened if I didn't drink."
The reality star is due in Los Angeles Superior Court on June 10 and things could go a lot more smoothly for her then if she has already completed a treatment program.
