Flay and March announced their separation with intent to divorce last week, and they are already duking it out over the enforcement of the couple's 2005 prenup. The celebrity chef sent his ex a $5000 support check, as per the terms of the agreement, which she promptly had her lawyer send back with a stern note.
"We regard the support provisions of the pre-marital agreement as unenforceable (not to mention reprehensible)," read the missive.
March also accused Flay of "bullying through economic warfare" after he canceled the credit cards she uses to pay for daily expenses like groceries, and said he is trying to bully her into signing a settlement agreement by threatening to kick her and her sick mother out of the marital home.
"It's a really difficult time for Stephanie, both because of this, and she's helping her mother, who has some health issues," March's attorney told Fox News. "And [she] is contending with her own health issues. Given all that, she would like to maintain her privacy."
Each side is also accusing the other of infidelity. Flay was rumored to have had affairs with both January Jones and Giada De Laurentiis, but denied both. "They [Flay and De Laurentiis] spent time together, they filmed a show together, they were never [romantically] involved," his lawyer told Fox News. March's lawyer said Flay is accusing her of doing the same, which she emphatically denies.
Flay was already a multimillionaire at the time of the marriage, while March is an actress who starred on Law & Order: SVU. The couple has no children and is mostly squabbling over property, including a New York City apartment and a home in the Hamptons.
