Nikki and Brie Bella spent most of the Season 3 finale stewing over their WWE renewal contracts, despite Nikki's big win as the new Divas Champion.
The contracts the girls were presented would extend their careers as Divas for another three years.
Brie reveals that she's ready to be a mother and has the goal of starting a family. Nikki, on the other hand, wants to get into different facets of the entertainment industry, but a casting director told her that devoting time as an actress would be hard if she continues as a Diva.
Turns out, E! wasn't just teasing the Bella Twins' exit as good headline fodder, because at the end of the episode, the girls sit down with WWE's head of talent relations, Mark Carrano, and candidly discuss their careers. Both reveal their plans for the future to Carrano, which causes Carrano to ask if this means they aren't going to be WWE Divas anymore.
The girls answer, "Yes."
Of course, just because they didn't renew their contracts, doesn't mean their WWE careers will simply come to a staggering halt.
The Bellas took to Twitter to address their departure, giving disappointed fans some potential hope.
You never know what the future holds, especially when you make life changing decisions. Nothing is forever. One day at a time. #TotalDivas— Nikki & Brie (@BellaTwins) March 9, 2015
Total Divas returns to E! July 7, but it's unclear what the Bella Twins' involvement will be now that they aren't officially divas anymore.
