The Hunger Games actress stripped down to pose for the March issue of Vanity Fair magazine, wearing nothing but a massive Colombian red-tailed boa constrictor.
The mag shared the striking photo on Instagram, which they referred to as "Girl Meets Boa."
The picture was shot by photographer Patrick Demarchelier as a tribute to Richard Avedon's 1981 Vogue portrait of Nastassja Kinski. And the publication chose to share the story behind the picture, too — you'll be pleased to know Lawrence was really brave and was not fazed by having a massive snake wrapped around her body.
"The actress proved to be very brave and nonchalant about having a serpent wrapped around her body," the mag wrote. They continued to explain that the star only got a little freaked out when the boa took a liking to her neck, and that's when the shoot ended and he was carefully put back in his box.
"Jennifer has the perfect combination of strength, sexuality and humor, and, above all, tomboy to pull this off," Vanity Fair fashion and style director Jessica Diehl said of the shoot, which she styled.
