Giudice, who was sentenced to 15 months in a Danbury, Connecticut, federal prison after pleading guilty to numerous counts of tax evasion and bankruptcy fraud charges last year, may not be living the glitzy life in front of cameras at the present time, but that doesn't mean she's not managing to stay glamorous behind bars.
Since surrendering herself to the prison at the beginning of January, Giudice has somehow kept the party going. The New Jersey resident isn't currently resting her head in a mansion, but she might be living a more civilized life now than when she was on the outside — that is, if you consider all of the brawls that went down during the filming of RHONJ.
Here's what Giudice has been tortured with so far during her prison term.
An app called Priv, which sends beauty and fitness experts right to the app user's door, sent Giudice a letter offering her some prison beauty "hacks" for staying fresh-faced and pretty in her orange jumpsuit. The masterminds behind Priv offered the reality TV mom enough info to keep her hair bouncy, her skin flawless and her lips perfectly exfoliated.
Giudice recently got a visit from her oldest daughter, Gia, who revealed that seeing her mother incarcerated wasn't all that bad. "It's nothing like anyone would expect," Gia said in an interview with Access Hollywood. "It was fun!"
When you think of being in jail, you assume one of the worst things would be not being able to catch up with those closest to you. Doesn't seem like that's the case for Giudice. "We can talk to her on the daily," said Gia. "And we have access to emailing her whenever we want. So that's amazing. It definitely helps with, like, coping with missing her and stuff." It's awesome that the family is able to keep in touch, but it's a luxury that most people doing time aren't afforded. Connecticut is one of only four states that allows inmates internet access, according to Newsweek.
Gia also revealed that her mother "looks so amazing," despite being behind bars. "They just had her makeup done," Gia said, causing many to speculate that Giudice is somehow working with a makeup artist while in jail.
Instead of fearing for her safety while incarcerated, Giudice has become the Regina George of her prison. "All anyone is talking about is that woman — even the staff," a fellow inmate told Perez Hilton of Giudice's cellblock popularity. "The vultures who want to be her bestie are all over her."
Here's some treatment Giudice is reportedly receiving that might not even happen at restaurants on the outside: She's served first no matter what. "She gets to eat before the main line at lunch and dinner and her kids were approved for visits the day she arrived," a source told In Touch magazine.
