Who knew this film would do so well with four SAG nominations?

The nominations have been released for the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards, and we have an interesting and unexpected leader in the dark comedy Birdman, which topped the nominations with four.

Boyhood, The Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything came in close seconds with three each.

Birdman tells the story of a washed-up actor named Birdman (played by Michael Keaton, who's famous for portraying an iconic superhero), who is struggling to reinvent his life. The film boasts a crazy awesome cast, featuring the amazing Edward Norton, the hilarious Zach Galifianakis and Emma Stone, and the lovely Naomi Watts. But ultimately, it looks a little dark and strange.

While Birdman captured the SAG's hearts, the film we are most looking forward to seeing is The Theory of Everything. The story of the amazing relationship between the genius physicist Stephen Hawking and his first wife, Jane Wilde, is based on her memoir, Travelling to Infinity: My Life With Stephen.

Eddie Redmayne, a nominee for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role in the film for portraying the young Hawking, had this to say about his nod: "To be nominated by my peers, and to be included in a list that is comprised of so many actors I admire, is an incredible honor. And to be recognized alongside Felicity and my cast mates means the world. Huge, huge thanks to SAG-AFTRA; I am beyond grateful."

Some unexpected snubs included no nominations for both Selma and only one for Unbroken — two films that look like they will be blockbusters that moviegoers will be talking about for years to come.

But their absence might not be for the reasons you might think. Because of when the nominations are released, oftentimes epic films, such as these, are left off the lists because people just plain don't have a lot of opportunity to go out and see them before the SAG nominations are put together.

In TV nominations, of course, all of our favorite shows found their way onto the the list. Receiving nods were the venerable Maggie Smith for Downton Abbey, Orange Is the New Black, Game of Thrones and The Big Bang Theory, to name a few.
