The porn industry wants Lorde — but will she say yes?

Lorde was kind enough to befriend porn star James Deen a while back, and their exchange apparently gave the adult entertainment industry a few ideas.

Adult Video News (AVN) sent an email to the popular songstress with an invitation to "open wide" and sing at the AVN Awards (which are sort of the Oscars for porn), TMZ reported. No word on whether they are seeking more from Lorde, as she just turned of legal age, but for now they would just like her to sing for them.

Lorde is not exactly known for overly sexy antics or anything of the sort, so it's odd the porn industry thinks she'd be a good fit for their awards show. But, maybe they really do think she's just a talented singer. However, as of now, neither the young artist nor her people have accepted the invitation.

This whole thing started when Lorde had a sweet conversation with Deen over Twitter in November. The adult film star tweeted that he had recently begun listening to Lorde and said she was "f***ing awesome." The "Love Club" singer quickly replied, adding two emoji hearts and saying, "vice versa... adored wells tower's gq profile a couple years back," which according to E! News was a very "good read."

A flattered Deen happily responded, "@lordemusic why thank you :-) Please forever continue to be awesome!!!!!" He later even added a lyric to Lorde's "Young Heroine" as a cryptic message for his fans. "I'm kinda over getting told to throw my hands up in the air" @lordemusic... You understand."

Deen's career has been on an upward spiral, even starring opposite Lindsay Lohan in the infamous The Canyons film. However, he has no intention of leaving the porn industry due to his feelings toward Hollywood and its ilk.

"All the scum and stereotypically horrible stories you hear about entertainment — they're all true," Deen told the New York Post last year. "There are scummy studio-producer people you speak to for 30 minutes, and you want to gouge your eyes out because you feel you've been soiled by their horribleness."
