In the new indie film Free the Nipple, topless young women in capes take to the streets of New York to protest violence and speak out against gender bias and censorship.

Our culture is full of contradictions. Film and television — even advertising — is full of violence and sexism. But when it comes to breastfeeding, the ultimate act of nurturing, women are often told they can't do it in public.

To make things more confusing, men are allowed to walk city streets without their shirts on, while women are often arrested if they attempt the same action, even in states where it's legal for women to bare their breasts in public. This creates a terrible double standard.

In this crafty new film, a gang of feisty young women launch a revolution to "Free the Nipple" and decriminalize the female form. Based on a real social movement that inspired by the likes of Scout Willis, Free the Nipple asks a lot of questions about what our society deems inappropriate.

In our exclusive clip, Liv (Lola Kirke) challenges her friend and fellow activist With (Lina Esco), to take a very bold, not to mention daring, action against censorship. But is With brave enough face her "worst nightmare, next to getting buried alive" and truly embrace her own message? Check out the video to find out.
