See? This is exactly why we adore the great internet so much! You have to admit that the world has been pretty obsessed with the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer, which debuted last week, and we have witnessed the awakening of many a parody since then. But this... this is by far our favourite.
Somebody out there must have been reading our minds, when he (or she) reimagined the Star Wars teaser as it would have been, if the franchise was helmed by director Wes Anderson. Yes, you read that right. There’s a Wes Anderson-style Star Wars trailer out there and it's as incredible as it sounds. The sheer brilliance of the idea boggles our minds.
The Wes Anderson trailer obviously features some large yellow block lettering, subdued colour schemes, French names and Françoise Hardy's "Le Temps de l'Amour" blasting in the background. Hardy's track was actually featured on the soundtrack for Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom, so its inclusion in the parody is no accident. We love how by just utilising some of these quick tricks, Star Wars was transformed from a futuristic blockbuster to a quirky-looking indie sweetheart. By far, the most original spin on the teaser trailer.
For any movie wizards out there, we would like to see a Western, a film noir and a Tarantino-style Star Wars trailer as well. Please and thank you.
