No hard feelings there! While 50 Cent's departure from Interscope Records — more specifically, Shady Records — in pursuit of independent production in February surprised just about everybody, it also raised questions about potential animosity betwixt Fiddy and Eminem. But the former asserts that their BFF status is fully intact. Phew!
"It's impossible to ruin the relationship Eminem and I have built up. There's no way I would say or do anything that would disrespect what he's done for me," 50 Cent told Huffington Post.
"I credit a huge portion of my success to Em, because if it wasn't for him being excited about the project, no one else would have rallied around it. It's one of those things that, if I hated Dr. Dre, I couldn't say it to anyone because it would bother Em. You understand? He's my Dre, and Dre is that to him, and so I would just never express it. I have nothing against Dre."
Aww... While rapper feuds are quite prominent in the industry, we're glad Fiddy and Eminem did not fall into that trap. See? Friendship surpasses business, people! We wonder if they call each other and chat on the phone, or watch the game at each other's houses, vacation together… We want to know!
To be honest, we're a little surprised 50 Cent and Eminem are close, considering that they are so perfectly set up to be rivals, competing on the same charts, for the same awards and collaborations. We love how unexpected it is. Naturally, we saw this as a challenge and decided to dig up other celebrity friendships that surpass this one in strangeness. Enjoy!
While this doesn't shock us to our very core, we still find it rather odd that Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster are buddies. The two previously teamed up for Maverick and The Beaver, but they actually just adore each other. Huh…
This one weirded us right out. Lindsay Lohan and Woody Allen met at a party and have since then met up on numerous occasions. It's not for work or publicity, just for friendly purposes… We don't understand. What do they talk about? How does it work?
Everybody in the world knows that Jennifer Aniston is Courteney Cox's best friend, but the actress also enjoys the company of Isla Fisher. The two especially enjoy going on shopping sprees together. How did they meet? If we were pressed, we would never have put these two together.
Eminem makes another appearance on the list, because he is friends with everybody. To prove he is not homophobic, Eminem performed with Elton John at the 2001 Grammys, but their friendship has only grown since then. The rapper even credits the iconic singer with helping him through his journey to sobriety.
Oh, you betcha! David Beckham and Snoop Dogg bonded when the soccer player moved to Los Angeles. The two hangskies together, play soccer, and Snoop even shares his new music with Beckham. Pretty neat, eh?
