Psht, 30 Seconds to Mars? More like 30 Seconds to Magic! Oh, we went there.
Jared Leto — actor by day, frontman of 30 Seconds to Mars by night — showed off his smoky, raspy vocals during an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge on Tuesday, where he covered Rihanna’s hit “Stay.” Oh boy, did he do a great job!
The original song was amazing already, of course, but Leto just added a little somethin’ somethin’ to it. His rough vocalization and intense emotion turned this ballad into pure heartache in musical form. We don’t know how Leto did it, but he did.
The 41-year-old actor was recently in Toronto attending the premiere of his latest film the Dallas Buyers Club, also starring Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner. And if you’re a 30 Seconds to Mars fan, the band released a new album Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams back in May. If you haven’t, check it out yet.
But enough of this! Can we just put Leto’s cover on replay and spend the whole day listening to it? OK, let’s do it!
