Robert Downey Jr. recently revealed his plans to hang out with his former flame of seven years, Parker, but he first intended to ask permission from her husband of 17 years, Matthew Broderick, before reconnecting with her.
The Iron Man star previously admitted during an appearance on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show that he'd love to catch up with the Sex and the City actress, saying, "I'll make a point of trying to see her while I'm here. I'd like to."
He added, "I'll ask his permission. I just want to check in for a few minutes. I love Matthew Broderick."
So, what did the The Lion King actor think of his wife spending time with her ex-boyfriend?
"Of course!" he told Us Weekly last week at the opening night of his new Broadway production, It's Only a Play, in New York City, New York. "He's more than [OK to connect with her] — they're great friends! What would I say? No? Who do you think I am? No, I love Robert Downey and Sarah Jessica Parker so [yes!]" he added.
A reunion certainly looks to be on the cards. Parker, who was supporting her beau at the launch, revealed of her ex, "He and I have always been on wonderful terms so… of course I'm hospitable to that!"
