Performers led a sing-along in Williams' honor

The Broadway cast of Aladdin did something really special for Robin Williams after their performance on Tuesday night.

Led by James Monroe Iglehart, the Tony Award-winning actor who plays the Genie, the crowd sang along to the Disney classic, "Friend Like Me." It was a moment of mourning, but it was also a moment of pure fun.

Iglehart kept it upbeat. "We're only going to do this once, because we don't want to drag something on," he said, with all the quick patter of his character. "Because, first and foremost, we want to give our hearts and our prayers and our thoughts to his family, because he's a husband and a father first, entertainer second."

Was the following audience sing-along the most virtuosic performance in the history of Broadway? Probably not, but it was a magical moment all the same.
