The actor jetted off to a weeklong stay in the Tahitian island paradise with fiancée, Jennifer Aniston, in tow to celebrate both his birthday and the two-year anniversary of the couple's engagement.
"It [was] a romantic trip to celebrate their engagement anniversary and Justin's birthday," an insider told People. "It's their first vacation together in Bora Bora and they were excited about the trip."
And it sounds like the busy couple could use the break — Theroux's been in New York filming his HBO series, The Leftovers, while Aniston's been all over the place promoting her Aveeno hair care line, Living Proof.
Despite their busy schedules, they seem to be making time for each other. A source says Theroux stopped by one of Aniston's events in Los Angeles for a quick visit.
"Jen had no idea that he was stopping by and she squealed with excitement when she saw him," the source says. "They genuinely looked very happy together. They kissed hello and Jen almost got flustered. You could tell that she really liked having Justin there. Justin kept smiling at her excitement. He was very sweet to her."
And Aniston has more busy months ahead — at the end of August, she'll be doing press for her movie, Life of Crime. In September, she's scheduled to appear at the Toronto Film Festival for the premiere of her upcoming film, Cake, and another film, She's Funny That Way, which re-teams Aniston with Owen Wilson, is set to debut soon in Venice.
But sources say a long engagement and hectic schedules aren't getting Aniston and Theroux down.
"Despite their long engagement, they do seem very happy together," one source said. "Jen is just happy to be sharing her life with Justin."
