Hayden, who is the main gunmaker on the Discovery Channel's hit reality show, was arrested and booked in Louisiana for child molestation, TMZ reported. However, the gunsmith claims that the accusations are all false and only the result of his bitter ex.
According to the East Baton Rouge website, sheriff's deputies arrested Hayden on allegations that he molested a child and did a crime against nature, which is an aggravated offense.
The father of two girls, Hayden had been living with them and his ex-girlfriend, who is the mother of the younger daughter he is accused of molesting. But he recently ended the relationship with the woman and he is claiming she made up the abuse accusations to retaliate against him for breaking up with her.
The daughter was actually interviewed by the Department of Children & Family Services and then returned to Hayden's home, TMZ added. Plus, the older daughter, Stephanie, said that "there was never any impropriety in our home. He was and is a good father."
Meanwhile, Hayden is fully cooperating with authorities on the matter and has been released on $150,000 bond, his lawyer Frank Holthaus told Fox News.
The ex-girlfriend was apparently also an ex-employee who got fired from Hayden's gun shop, Red Jacket Firearms, and she's simply seeking revenge, the attorney added.
"I believe [the allegations] are completely false," Holthaus said.
Discovery Channel would not comment other than to say that Suns of Guns is not on the air at the moment. But Hayden has returned to work and he stands by his innocence.
