One Instagram user is clearly not a fan of Gomez, and according to Us Weekly, the user took to Instagram to tell the "Come & Get It" singer that she should "burn in hell with cancer." Gomez did not take kindly to such a vicious remark and decided to bite back.
In response to the commenter, whose account has now been deleted, the Monte Carlo actress left a message on one of the commenter's photos and then screenshot it and shared it with her followers on Saturday.
So what did Gomez's message say?
"The comment you left about cancer was absurd. How distasteful of a young woman," the Getaway star wrote. "I have gone through that battle with fans and family members. You can dislike someone but to wish something that could happen to you or your family is uncalled for sweetheart."
"You won't be winning 'anyone's' heart that way," she continued. "Trust me. Educate yourself a tad more. God bless love. Be an amazing woman. You're beautiful."
Gomez was proud of herself for responding to the commenter, and she captioned the screenshot, "Honestly, I don't speak up much because it's simply *always* taken out of context. But I don't take bullying well. I have seen too much to not say anything."
While Gomez's comments to the girl were not nasty, and many fans have shown their support for her anti-bullying stance, some fans have been unimpressed with the fact that the pop star decided to share the screenshot and publicly humiliate the girl.
