"It's not a midlife crisis," Szostak, who plays Grace Truman, shares. "It's quite the opposite. It's more a new birth."
The new birth she's referring to is the twisted web the Truman's weave as each strives to make their lives better, more authentic. They have a great life from the outside. They have a fancy house and a nice car. Neil (Matt Passmore) is a successful businessman. Grace does a good job at juggling marriage, motherhood and everything good wives are supposed to do. But something's missing.
In the exclusive clip, Grace cancels book club in favor of the moms going after their own adventure. The ladies end up at a club, dancing the night away. When Grace is drawn to a sexy stranger, it all starts innocent enough, but for how long? That's the stranger, Simon, we've seen pinning her to the wall when Neil comes home from work.
Grace isn't in love. She's just looking for a little spice. Neil figures that out when he chases down Simon and finds out his wife has hired the escort to add in the spice and excitement she's been craving. What could Neil do and where should he go from there? The answer somehow becomes so simple: He'll give a go at being a male escort himself.
"Then, of course, as true life happens, things get flipped on their heads and their worlds turn upside down," Passmore summed up. "It really is a post-modern love story."
Watch it all go down starting with the premiere on Thursday, July 17 at 10/9c. We'll bring the popcorn.
