The 69-year-old actress opened up about all her beauty secrets to Redbook during a recent interview for her latest movie The Hundred-Foot Journey. When asked about her beauty regime, the actress confessed, "Quite honestly. I don't really know what a beauty routine is. But I love beauty products, and I'm always trying new ones."

However, The Queen star did go on to explain that there is one product she cannot live without, and that's prescription lash-growth serum Latisse.

"One thing I consistently use is Latisse. It really works, and if your eyelashes look great, you can let a lot of other things be crap," Mirren said.

That said, Mirren loves makeup. "I love putting it on," she said. "I get really into it: a little bit of this here, a little bit of that there.…"

So what else does an Oscar-winning actress swear by?

"Kate Somerville face wash," Mirren said. However, she's also no snob when it comes to beauty products and shared that she's also a "great believer in drugstore products."

"You don't have to spend a lot of money to get quality stuff nowadays," she said. "A brand like L'Oréal has amazing technology."

And how does the British actress get her locks looking so good? Well, she's revealed that she actually chops them off herself, although not always.

"I can't handle going to the hairdresser every six weeks, so I only go about once a year. In between, I get out the scissors and do something, usually rather disastrously. Sometimes I'll even chop my hair the morning of a big red-carpet event."
