There's a new development in the Dolly Parton biopic and it's coming straight from the country icon herself.
On Tuesday, May 27, the famed singer made headlines after briefly discussing her biopic with People magazine. Aside from "doing a musical" on her life, Parton says that she's started discussions about a film. "When we started talking about a movie, people had mentioned Scarlett Johansson," she said. As for why Johansson's name has been thrown in the mix, the singer said, "I guess she's full bosomed.
No word from the currently-pregnant Johansson about the role, but she is no stranger to rumored biopic roles. In May 2013, Johansson was one of the many names reportedly in the running to play Hillary Clinton in an upcoming biopic. The other candidates included Reese Witherspoon, Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Chastain.
Judging simply based on public perception, Johansson might be an appropriate casting for the role as she was named Esquire's "Sexiest Woman" last year.
Even though Parton is close to 70 years old, the actress says she is still going to do everything in her power to keep herself looking youthful. "There's nothing I can do about the number, but I'll do everything I can to keep myself in working order," she told the publication. "I'm going to do whatever little nip and tuck and collagen and Botox that I can do safely. But if you keep your spirit young, you look younger. And I don't have time to get old!"
