Mya started her career as a hip-hop dancer on BET's Teen Summit. By the time she was 19 years old, she had a hit record with musical artist Sisqó called "It's All About Me." She even went on to win a Grammy Award with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim and P!nk for their collaboration on the remake of "Lady Marmalade" from the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack.
She has a new EP called Sweet 16, which is a tribute to the 16 years she'd been in the music industry when she released her first album back in 1998. Her longevity speaks volumes about her incredible talent.
SheKnows sat down with the talented R&B singer to learn more about what she loves, from lip gloss to manicotti.
"Tailgating. [It makes me] angry-cry."
"Wow, that's a great question. Prince."
"Lip gloss. Anything with shimmer in it."
"Yes, I do. Nothing visual, but I believe in spirits and energy."
"Cher and Sylvester Stallone. And The Rock."
"My favorite food is Italian food. See how easy that answer was? Yum, manicotti."
