Calls himself high-functioning alcoholic

Channing Tatum says he enjoys drinking way too much and is probably a high-functioning alcoholic because of it.

After admitting he is big on hitting the bottle, Channing Tatum said he thinks he's possibly a high-functioning alcoholic.

During his recent interview with GQ magazine, Tatum described his evenings as relaxing "with a bottle of wine or a glass of bourbon." He also confessed he likes to drink way too much to his wife's dislike. "I'm probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic, I guess," he said.

The 22 Jump Street star went on to describe how drinking helps him with a "tendency to escape. I equate it to creativity, and I definitely equate it to having a good time."

However, Tatum also admitted that having a baby has played a big part in cutting down his intake of alcohol lately, and he's actually planning on quitting altogether for the Magic Mike sequel. But that won't stop him from going all out when filming for the popular stripper movie wraps up. "At the end of that movie, it's go time."

The handsome 34-year-old also spoke about his busy schedule, having shot four movies back-to-back in the last 18 months.

"This was supposed to be my year off," Tatum said. "I feel like I was definitely the fat kid at the buffet. There were four really great projects, and I was, 'I wanna do them all.'"

After being told that doing four movies in a row would just kill him, not only did Tatum insist he could take it, but he also went and had his first child.

"Zero breaks... then we had sort of a crazy, harebrained idea to try and have a kid," Tatum said half-joking. "And it happened the first time, basically. And I don't think we thought it all the way through." But he does admit that he and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, are just "happy as hell about it."
