Everybody's got something to say about 50 Cent reportedly skipping his son's high school graduation, including the rapper himself.
The drama started when Marquise Jackson, the highly successful musician's child from his relationship with Shaniqua Tompkins, reportedly posted this message to Facebook along with some photos from the ceremony: "Yea I broke down. I was really excited to see my pops at my graduation but he never showed up smh. My sister and mama is always there for me just know that you wasn't. I did it without you."
While some claim the message was fake to begin with, others are reporting it wasn't 50 Cent's fault he didn't attend the ceremony because he wasn't ever invited.
Stopping by 106 & Park to discuss "Twisted," the 38-year-old explained social media can be both a blessing and a curse. After sharing he appreciates how easy it is to get in touch with fans these days, the good friend of Meryl Streep added that sometimes fans can go overboard with personal questions and demand explanations — like about his family's ups and downs.
When asked about the personal subject of the graduation ceremony drama, 50 Cent replied, "It's tough, because, you know, you travel a lot and you move around, [but] you still have to be able to provide those things… [for a child] to be able to have a decent upbringing like a nice place to stay and private schools…"
He went on to say, "My relationship with my oldest son is dictated by his actual mom, and because his mother has developed a negative energy toward me [it's tough]."
Referring to the graduation specifically, he begrudgingly explained, "I hadn't received an invitation to it, and when he graduated I was in Budapest on a movie… I think at some points the information comes out [publicly] is because his mom is going to TMZ..."
