Aaron Carter clearly has some unresolved feelings when it comes to his ex-girlfriend Hilary Duff, and the 26-year-old star is still reminiscing about his past relationship and hoping for another shot in the future.
Carter revealed his true feelings about Duff to Entertainment Tonight's Rob Marciano on Thursday, and admitted that he still loves her.
"I don't know who she is today, she doesn't know who I am today, but I would sweep her off her feet if I ever got a chance to again and fix what I did wrong," Carter declared.
And this is not the first time the "I Want Candy" hit maker has spoken out about his regrets for not making it work with the Material Girl actress. Soon after the news broke that Duff would be splitting from her NFL husband Mike Comrie, Carter decided to take to Twitter to let his feelings be known.
"I'll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don't care what ANY of you think," Carter wrote. "Don't be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me…"
However, Duff has yet to respond to her ex-boyfriend's declarations of love, which come more than a decade later because the pair split up in 2003.
So is Carter upset that he hasn't gotten a response from his old flame?
Nope! "That wasn't meant for the media or anybody like that — I didn't think about it really," Carter said. "I wasn't really looking for [a response] either. I'm sure she got the message."
"I'm going to do everything in my power to fix those relationships in my life just like I want to fix the relationship I had with the love of my life," Carter added, referring to Duff. "I'm not gonna give up on Hilary ...ever."
