Leighton Meester and Adam Brody surprised the world when they tied the knot in a secret ceremony over the Valentine's Day weekend at a resort in Mexico, and the notoriously private couple have remained pretty mute about their relationship ever since.

And now Meester has finally opened up about her husband and what it has been like working with him on-screen again — they first met on the set of the 2011 film The Oranges — in their latest movie Life Partners.

The 28-year-old actress jokingly referred to her beau as "that pesky guy" during a recent interview with Newsday about their on-screen collaboration. "It's about finding each other, and how it kinda hurts to change and grow... for the better, even. It was the best. We basically got to say whatever came to our minds. There was a lot of improv," she said.

Meester and Brody are not starring as a couple in their forthcoming film because the brunette beauty will be portraying a lesbian while Brody will star as a charming young doctor. And even though the loved-up pair did not star as a couple on-screen, the Gossip Girl alum admitted it was a lot of fun being able to film with her spouse.

"That came along just by chance. I was like, 'I'm gonna be playing the person you're not dating. That OK? I'm gonna be playing the opposite of that,'" she told the newspaper. "And yeah, I'm biased — but he's incredible in it," Meester gushed.

Meester is currently starring in the Broadway production Of Mice and Men along with co-stars Chris O'Dowd and James Franco, who branded a New York Times critic ''a little b****'' for giving him a poor review this week.
