Kristen Stewart is sporting a dramatic new hairstyle: She's gone orange!

However, the 23-year-old beauty is not making a fashion statement with her new bold hair — the dye job is only temporary as she's preparing for her role in the forthcoming film American Ultra.

The actress' new film is said to be an indie action-comedy that will see her star opposite Jesse Eisenberg. And according to the Times-Picayune via The Huffington Postthe film is set to begin production from April 14 through June 10.

Stewart appears makeup-free and makes a peace sign in the candid snapshot that was posted on Instagram by the Maison de Cheveux salon in New Orleans on Friday, the salon where the star underwent her hair transformation.

And the salon's staff was pleased to have a star in their midst. They captioned the picture, "Kristen Stewart gettin her hair ready for a new role! #americamultra #awesomecolor #houseofhair (sic)."

According to Us Weekly, the hair salon owner revealed, "The director of the movie told us what color to dye Kristen's hair. [Stewart] was very sweet and cool."

Many celebrities are currently sporting lilac locks, but the bright orange trend may not be catching on anytime soon. However, Stewart doesn't seem to mind changing up her hairstyle and has even previously admitted to Into the Gloss that she'd consider chopping off her locks altogether.

"If I wasn't an actor, I would definitely do things to my hair. I would cut it more, I would dye it more," Stewart revealed. "At some point I want to do a total boy cut, completely — not a pretty, girly version — like a straight up James Dean haircut."

Stewart's orange hairdo may not be quite as dramatic as a James Dean haircut, but tell us: What do you think of her new look?
