Hemmens will take on the role of Maggie, Enzo's long-lost love from 1953. If you'll remember, Enzo told Damon (Ian Somerhalder) he and Maggie met because she was working as a lab assistant for Dr. Whitmore, who was doing experiments on vampires, especially Enzo. Maggie will first appear in the series in Episode 19, according to E! Online. Either we will see Maggie via flashbacks or she managed to get herself turned into a vampire. Otherwise, she's looking spectacular for being about 80 years old.
Brochu, on the other hand, will be joining the student body of Whitmore as character Luke in Episode 16. Elena (Nina Dobrev), Bonnie and Caroline (Candice Accola) will bond with him, but, as we previously reported, sparks won't be flying. Luke is appearing as The Vampire Diaries' first gay character. And while Elena, Bonnie and Caroline may just have the innocent motivation of adding a dude to their posse, Luke has some mysterious and dangerous reasons for getting into their lives.
As we've seen already in the case of Jesse and Aaron, "recurring" is definitely not synonymous with "surviving" on the show. From what we've heard so far, it seems like Maggie has a better chance of making it through Season 5 than Luke.
Maybe Luke was a friend of Aaron's and knows some information about his death somehow. If that's the case, Luke had better watch his back. Damon is never someone you want to mess with, especially not with his vamp bloodlust going haywire right now.
On the other hand, Maggie might be just what Enzo needs to set him straight and back on the path of good. Though, if she is a vampire, Enzo might want to keep her away from Damon's teeth right now.
Hmm, it's interesting how each theory keeps circling back to Damon as the potential killer. But he is, after all, the dangerous one right now.
