If you're dying to hear more of it or just want to help a good cause, be sure to download the track, "Invisible," for free (today only) on iTunes! The best part: Even though you're paying absolutely nothing for the song by the world's most famous rock band, Bank of America is donating $1 to the (Red) for the Global Fund for every single time the song is downloaded. The money will go towards putting an end to the mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
The new track is U2 at it's best and most inspirational. U2 found its place in the music scene early on in their career as a band. They know what works for them and they don't stray too far from that sound and vibe. "Invisible" is proof to that. Produced by Dangermouse, the new single's guitar don't just drive the song but sending it soaring, as is usually the case with the Edge's handiwork. The beat, though man made, sounds like something straight off a computer and works hard to make Bono, the gang and you bounce happily along on your feet.
Bono, in all his glory, is once again setting out to change the world one verse at a time, bellow by bellow, note after note. With us-against-the-world lyrics, we're once again being challenged by the Irishman to not only stand up for ourselves and own who we are, but to stand up for those who need champions, too. The lyrics say it all:
Can he get a "Nailed it?"
The track is the first single of U2's upcoming yet-to-be named album, which still has no release date, either. Like everything they do, Bono, the Edge and all have released "Invisible" with as much flourish as one can imagine. Not only are we talking about the band and eagerly anticipating their next release, but we're downloading "Invisible" so we can devour great new music and support Bono's baby, (Red).
Well played, you champ.
