The couple has been married since 2009 and has two children, twins Moroccan and Monroe, 2. When a fan asked if the 43-year-old was interested in having more kids, she offered up a surprising answer.
She said, "I had preeclampsia; I had gestational diabetes, a really difficult pregnancy and I was alone most of the time."
Once the former American Idol judge realized how odd that comment sounded, she said loudly, "We love Nick, but he's working! He's the hardest-working man in show business. Hi, Nick!"
Cannon is often busy with his host duties on America's Got Talent which relocated from Los Angeles to New York once judge Howard Stern signed on to the show. Even though Carey prefers to live on the East Coast, 33-year-old Cannon heads back to Los Angeles as often as he can.
The Grammy winner has complained in the past to radio station Hot 97 in New York about his work schedule. She said, "[in 2009] He started doing America's Got Talent so he just works constantly. I like to work at home in my little studio…The house in LA… I mean, he loves LA."
If Cannon is placing his career over his family with Carey, it certainly might cause tension in their marriage. However, the rumors might be much ado about nothing since Carey posted a sweet photo of the two of them all bundled up for the cold weather in Aspen on Dec. 22. The caption read, "Uncharacteristically leaving the house early before darkness with Nick & dembabies, going ice skating (not me)."
Work may keep them apart, but the holidays are a time for family and the two are sticking together.
