Couple Splits After 6 Months Of Dating
Kate Upton and Maks Chmerkovskiy have called it quits on their relationship after just six months together.
According to Us Weekly, several sources say that Upton and Chmerkovskiy have recently gone their separate ways, although the two have remained close pals.
"They are really good friends still and talk all the time, but their schedules just made it too difficult and it fell apart," an Us insider said. "[Chmerkovskiy] has a lot of respect for her, but it just wasn't working anymore."
After he was reached for comment, the former DWTS dancer's rep declined to offer information on Chmerkovskiy's personal-life details.
Upton, 21, and Chmerkovskiy, 33, were first linked in June of this year after being spotted several times holding hands and even kissing. But the two did not bring their romance out to the public until September, when a photo of them holding hands in New York City was plastered all over the internet.
Later on in October, Chmerkovskiy gushed about Upton and their relationship during his brother Val Chmerkovskiy's new Valentin clothing line launch party.
"She's an amazing person. We have an incredible time together, and, you know, I definitely didn't see that coming and I think neither did she," Chmerkovskiy said. "We enjoy each other's company very much and like I said, she's a great girl [and] I never thought anything romantic like this could have happened."
Additionally, Chmerkovskiy commented to People magazine about how much he respected Upton and how well they got along. The two could talk about anything from politics to business, he said. The magazine also reported back in September that the two seemed to be getting "very serious" at the time.
