Eek! Matt Smith gets naked in Doctor Who images

Bundle up, Matt,
it's Christmas!

For one reason or another, Matt Smith decided it was time to shed the suit on Doctor Who. See the outcome and a million more pics from the upcoming Christmas episode.

Doctor Who Christmas Special

Um. What? We just pulled the latest images released from the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special, "The Time of the Doctor," and we're 50 shades of confused/aroused. There are some pretty cool images to show off, but we're mostly focused on two very... stripped down images. In the photos, Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) is clothed but the Doctor is as naked as the day he was born. Well, we assume Gallifreyans are born naked, though we don't know for sure. We digress...

Have you seen the extended trailer for "The Time of the Doctor?" We've got it! >>

Why is Eleven (Matt Smith) naked and how long will it last? We've only a few more days left before we'll find out for sure. In the meantime, we know there are (at least) a million Whovians who will want a sneak peek and we're willing to give it to you!

As for the rest of the images, they don't seem very telling. It's nothing as obvious as the Elizabeth I appearance in the 50th Anniversary special. Still, we're absolutely excited for the episode as we're going to meet up with all kinds of foes, including the Cybermen and Daleks. Will the Daleks get to (momentarily) ex-ter-mi-nate the Doctor? Will Clara receive an upgrade? Christmas seems particularly far away now that we've glimpsed these images!

Ack! The feels! "The Day of the Doctor" brought them all crashing to the surface >>

Our favorite people in the entire world, BBC America, even sent over some of Matt Smith's thoughts of the end of the Eleventh Doctor. It sounds like there will be plenty of laughs and tears, as has been the case often times before.

"The Christmas special for me is a bittersweet episode because I’m leaving, but Steven has written a brilliant, adventurous, funny episode and I’m really thrilled with it. It feels wonderfully Christmassy," Smith told BBC America. "I think it’s good for the Doctor to go out with a bang, a crash and a wallop. I’m pleased it’s really funny and mad. When I got to the last 20 pages and it was quite a hard read for me, but I hope it’s going to be a belter."

Nice suit! Jenna and Matt troll Whovians at Comic-Con >>

The show's writer and executive producer, Steven Moffat, seems especially proud of the final Christmas adventure he's created for Eleven.

"There are also elements from every series of Matt’s Doctor, which will come to a head in this special," he shared. "Things that we’ve laid down for years are going to be paid off."

Are you excited yet? We are! In case you haven't seen them yet, we thought we'd share the latest still from the Who camp. It, indeed, looks like the Christmas special will be a walloping good time.
