It was only a few years ago that Ed Sheeran was completely unknown to everyone but his family and friends. But now he is a worldwide superstar, helping sell out stadiums and is the BFF to Taylor Swift.

So what is his life missing? The singer opened up, saying he is just "trying to take it all in" and is living his "teenage boy's dream," except for one very important thing.

"I mean, I'm not banging a supermodel," he joked to E! News.

Sheeran was discovered by Elton John, Jamie Foxx and others, before catching the eye of Taylor Swift. He has since gone out on numerous tours with her, and their friendship has sparked plenty of romance rumors. But he is happy his friend is making a name for herself on his side of the pond.

"England's like really adopting her now," Sheeran said. "It's kind of cool because she, this has been her biggest album in England. This is the first time she's really opened up to the U.K. and, yeah, they're really adopting her."

The British singer was talking about Swift's recent performance with Jon Bon Jovi and Prince William. During a charity event, the three found themselves on stage for a rendition of "Livin' On a Prayer."

"Like singing with Bon Jovi is cool, but pulling royalty up as well is pretty cool," Sheeran gushed.

Sheeran is currently working on a new album, and is proud of the work he has done so far. He said his first record was put together "in two weeks," but, "this record I put together, it was like a hundred demos of the songs and I've whittled it down to twelve and made sure the production is right."

"I've really put my heart and soul into it," added.
