Expressing Her Music Through Art
Lady Gaga releases a new film to promote her new album ARTPOP, and it is very NSFW.
Lady Gaga's new album ARTPOP was released a few weeks ago, but the singer is still working to promote her newest creation. She released a new "ARTPOP film" on Wednesday, and it's true Gaga style. The short film shows Lady Gaga in all stages of undress, and at times covered in moss.
"This album is a celebration, my pain exploding in electronic music," Gaga says. "It's heavy, but after I listen to it, I feel happy again. I feel lighter."
Throughout the video, directed by Inez and Vinoodh, Gaga also dresses in a wedding dress, bra and thong and as a pageant queen. But there is also the moss, a raincoat as a hat, a lightbulb and her own tears. By the end of the video, the 27-year-old singer is crying. Throughout, her single plays in the background.
The style of Gaga shown in the film is really a work of art, and although it may be (very) NSFW, it shows the creative genius that is Lady Gaga.
She tweeted about the film on Wednesday.
Although Gaga is still promoting her new album, it doesn't need much help. It debuted at the number one spot on Billboard's Top 200 chart the first week it was out, selling 250,000 copies, adding to the great year Lady Gaga is having. She was just named one of the highest-paid musicians of 2013, and hosted Saturday Night Live on Nov. 17 to rave reviews. She also admitted she has finally found love after years of being alone.
Lady Gaga continues to prove that, no matter how she makes news, she is doing it all for the music.
You can see Lady Gaga perform live at the American Music Awards Sunday, Nov. 24.
