Welcome Baby Valor

Less than a month after it was first reported that Emile Hirsch would be a dad, he and his ex-girlfriend welcomed a brand-new baby boy.

It's been a great week for Emile Hirsch. Earlier this week, he was cast as John Belushi in a new film about the comedian. But even before that, he welcomed a brand-new baby.

The baby boy was born last Sunday in Florida. The mom is unknown, according to the Los Angeles Times, except that she is a woman Hirsch used to date.

The baby was named Valor and weighs 6 pounds, 2 ounces.

"He is a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Everyone is so excited and happy," a source told E! News.

Although Hirsch and the mother are not a couple, they told E! that they are still friends and will be raising the child together. They reportedly met at an Oscars after-party earlier this year.

"Emile showed up after the baby was born and he is spending time bonding with his new child," another source said.

Back in October, it was first reported that Hirsch would be welcoming a child and that he would be doing all he could to support the baby.

"He's trying to be a good guy in the situation. He still has love for the girl — it's just his schedule and life did not fit in with having a relationship," a source told Us Weekly.

Hirsch tweeted hints of the birth on Sunday,

The Into the Wild actor hasn't posted on Twitter since then, but he obviously has had babies on the brain. He tweeted about another famous child recently.

Hirsch's career is as hot as ever. He not only landed the role of Belushi in the biopic, but he will be starring alongside Modern Family's Sarah Hyland in a new film about the infamous bandits Bonnie and Clyde.

Congrats to the new parents!
