Even though Bethenny Frankel's daytime talk show is suffering in the television ratings, she's certainly hitting upon a lot of controversial topics. On Wednesday, reality star Omarosa Manigault took the Skinnygirl mogul to task for a personal comment she made on The View three years ago.
That initial discussion launched into a prickly argument over their business models and who was more successful.
Both women found their initial public success from The Apprentice franchise during its first season. Manigault appeared in Season 1 of Donald Trump's show while Frankel was the runner-up on Martha Stewart's short-lived version of the show.
Things became heated in the studio when the topic of race became an issue.
"It's different for you and I," Manigault said. "I am an African-American woman. You get to walk around and be mediocre and you still get rewarded with things. We have to be exceptional to get anything in this business."
Even though the TV villain admitted Frankel was more successful because she had her own talk show, the discussion continued to go downhill.
The host egged on her guest by stating, "I don't think you have a brand."
The All-Star Celebrity Apprentice star argued back, "You make cupcakes, I worked in the White House. Get a grip. I am a smart businesswoman who celebrates being smart and there is a brand in being smart."
"Your brand is smart?" Frankel questioned. "That's in your business plan?"
"Absolutely. I have an accomplished career. I teach young people... I hope they don't get discouraged from watching two women who have an opportunity to put things behind us. We have a chance to turn this thing around," said the 39-year-old guest.
Frankel ended the conversation with, "No, we don't."
While it looks like these two won't be friends any time soon, it's clear that Frankel's show is delivering explosive entertainment.
